Frequently Asked Questions
When your twin filtration system is not in use, remove the filters, completely drain the unit, and let the filters and housings dry before storage. You can put the filters back into the housing for storage. Your filters are designed not to allow bacteria to fester/grow and should be ready to use again for your next trip. Before your next trip, however, we recommend flushing the housing and filters through thoroughly 24 hours before you set off. You can also apply the recommended dosage of AqueousPro™ water sanitiser to the unit after you have flushed it through. Let the sanitiser sit in the filtration system for 24 hours before using. It is food grade, so it is safe to consume. Or, feel free to flush it through after 24 hours.
Filter cartridges typically last 6 – 12 months depending on amount of use and quality of the water source. If your water flow at the tap is starting to slow, this could be due to blocked filters. Which means they are doing their job! Check your filtration system by removing the filters and inspecting the cartridges. Dirty or discoloured filters should be replaced.
